May 12, 2026- The annual Unsung Heroes event was held at RWJBarnabas Health Arena on Monday evening, May 11. An event founded by the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office with hosting help and support from Toms River Regional Schools, it featured words from Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer and OCPO agent Michael Colwell, Superintendent Michael Citta (right), and OCASA President Dr. Thomas Farrell; music from the High School North jazz band and chorus; colors and flag presentation by the Junior ROTC; organization from Geralyn Gallucci; and lots of assistance from T.E.A.M. volunteers.
Among the otherwise unheralded students recognized by the OCPO were three district high schoolers: Victoria Mazurkiewicz from High School East; Rosio Viveros-Garcia from High School North; and Cody Blair from High School South. Celebrated for virtues including compassion, resilience, integrity, and tenaciousness, these students joined a host of peers and their families from throughout Ocean County for this special and inspiring occasion.
