Toms River Schools subject of feature story

Curriculum in the Business Academy at High School South is rigorous, fun, and often student-led, as evidenced in this shot from South student Gabrielle Carvalho. This photo and others are featured in the January issue of Business View Magazine.

Jan. 5, 2026- Toms River Regional Schools and its efforts toward career-readiness caught the attention of Business View Magazine, an award-winning publication focused on North American businesses, entrepreneurs, and industry trends. Initial conversations led Business View staff to focus on High School South and its Business Academy as a prime example of the district's broader focus, and how students are leading the charge to an education geared to their interests and market demands.

The feature story, months in the making, was published today. It's titled "Entrepreneurial by Nature: Preparing Gen Z for a Future They're Ready to Build." It includes interviews from Superintendent Michael Citta and HSS Assistant Principal and Business Academy Principal Christopher Peck, as well as vibrant photos from South student Gabrielle Carvalho.

The massive monthly publication was launched today, and interested readers can see the feature on pages 357-370 in the online version linked here.
