Store Donates 1,200 Bags Filled with School Supplies

The Toms River Staples just gave back to our students in a major way.

The store conducted a School Supply Drive where patrons visiting the store could donate $5 at the time of check out. The collected donations went towards purchasing 1,200 bags filled with school supplies such as pencils, folders, index cards, rulers, and colored pencils.

On September 3, the bags were delivered to district headquarters in time for the first day of school and the bags will be distributed to students throughout the district.

"We are truly grateful and appreciative of our local business partners who support the district and subsequently the families and students in the towns we serve," said Superintendent David Healy. "We can't say thank you enough to the Toms River Staples for recognizing the need to help families in these challenging financial times."

The general manager of the Toms River location, Dianna Hoyt, has been leading the cause for the past two years locally and looks forward to continuing the partnership in future years.

"We really wanted to help and give back to the students and families of Toms River," said Hoyt. "We believe this is a great way for community members to partner with our store by making a donation while supporting the children who live here."
