Veteran Celebrates 102nd Birthday With Help From Int. South

Campbell

102 Cards for 102 Years

Oct. 21, 2019-- What better way to celebrate 102 years than to receive 102 cards? This was the wish of a local veteran Mr. Campbell, who celebrated his 102nd birthday Oct. 10, 2019. Much to his surprise, Mr. Campbell received more than 6,000 cards from all over the country and from Europe, which included more than 150 handmade cards from Ms. Melanie Barcliff's seventh-grade classes and Mrs. Trent's eighth-grade classes at Intermediate South. The cards were delivered to Mr. Campbell directly at the Willow Springs Rehab Center in Brick by Intermediate South teachers. Mrs. Trent's therapy dog, Ranger, helped spread joy and cheer to Mr. Campbell and the residents, too.
