Nov. 20, 2025- The United Way of Monmouth and Ocean Counties has provided winter coats and hoodies to Toms River Regional Schools students for several years running now through its Warmest Wishes program. That act of goodwill continued this year, and it meant something extra special at North Dover Elementary School.
The district's preschool program moved from the offices at 1144 Hooper Avenue to North Dover to begin this school year. As the days began to grow colder in recent weeks, school staff realized some of their youngest kiddos could really use warm coats, and that the school's request through Warmest Wishes wouldn't quite be able to fulfill the need.
District staff members at 1144 — who regularly supported the preschool program when it was housed there, through a holiday giving tree and other initiatives — stepped up big time, providing plenty of coats as well as hats and gloves to preschool Pirates. And today, the Warmest Wishes delivery arrived.
