Congratulations to our girls track team for winning the Ocean County relay championships on Thursday. This hard fought championship broke southern regionals streak of 14 straight titles at this meet. North girls ran away with the title by winning 4 events and placing in 4 others. Leading the way with the number 1 time in New Jersey was the shuttle hurdle team of Emma Fortuna, Ave Ellis, Ayo Folwewo and Lia Malave. Olivia Takla and Olivia Nickelson both ran on 3 first place relays and were our keys to victory. Other Girls scoring crucial points were Alexa Eglin, Camron Glunk, AnnMaria Peragino, Adrianna Escalera, Rachel Grudus, and Reagan Wohrab. Congratulations on your championship. Hard work pays off!
Not to be out done, the Boys Track team also won the Ocean County Relay Championships on Thursday night. The team was led by big wins in the 4x800, sprint medley relay, distance medley relay and 4x400. The 4x200 took 2nd place, the shuttle hurdles and high jump relay placed 3rd and the shot put relay took 4th place. Great work boys! Go Mariners.
