    On Thursday, February 12, 2026 from 6:30 - 8:30PM, Mr. Eric Ginsberg from Solution Prep of Toms River will present. This evening is for both students and parents. The information shared can save thousands off the cost of college.

  • 8th Grade Parent Night - Class of 2030

    On January 29, 2026 @ 6PM sharp, High School South Guidance will be hosting an 8th Grade Parent information night for the parents of incoming Freshmen for the 2026/2027 school year. Some of the topics which will be covered include the New Jersey Department of Education graduation requirements and transition from Intermediate to High School. There will be a question and answer session at the conclusion of the presentation. This evening is for parents only. Please enter the Cafetorium from the Hooper Avenue parking lot.

    On Thursday, January 15, 2026 from 6:30-8:30PM in the HS NORTH Auditorium: Master Tutor, Eric Ginsberg from Solution Prep will guide parents and their students on the process to get on track toward admission success.

  • FAFSA SUPPORT SESSION

    On Saturday, October 18th from 9:30-11:30AM in the High School EAST cafeteria, Eric Ginsberg from Solution Prep will host a support session for the FAFSA. This event is for parents/guardians of seniors. Submitting a FAFSA is a High School Graduation Requirement in New Jersey. You can register for free via the QR code on the flyer. Parents/Guardians will need to bring a charged laptop or tablet; parent and student 2024 taxes, W-2s & 1099s; and financial information. Se habla español.

    On October 7th from 6-8PM, the Ocean County School Counselors Association will be hosting the Fall College & Career Expo at the RWJ Barnabas Health Arena on the Toms River High School North campus @ 1245 Old Freehold Road, Toms River.   • Free Community Construction Career Expo & Job Fair

    Wednesday, May 14, 2025 (rain date May 15th) at Jersey Shore Blue Claws stadium. There will be 40+ businesses in attendance, hands-on instructional demos, breakout information sessions for high school juniors, seniors and adults, plus opportunities for on-site interviews and more!   • Attention Algebra 1 Honors, 8th Grade Advanced Math & Pinnacle Students and Grade 9 STEAM Academy Students:

    Toms River Schools is offering an option for qualifying students to take Geometry over the summer. Eligibility for Summer Geometry Algebra 1 Honors students and eighth grade students who are currently in Advanced Math or Pinnacle (and eligible STEAM Academy Students) and have earned an A average or higher are eligible to apply for Intensive Study Geometry during the summer. Successful completion of Geometry does not satisfy high school math requirements and does not count toward the GPA, but will appear on a student’s transcript. It DOES allow ninth grade students to take Algebra II/Trig in grade nine or ten and advance from there (students need to take three math courses in high school to meet the graduation requirement). Requirements: In-person students must meet the attendance requirements and pass all 4 required unit assessments with a grade of C+ or higher. Application Information: Algebra 1 Honors, eighth grade Advanced Math and Pinnacle students (and eligible STEAM Academy Students) who are interested in attending the in-person Intensive Study Geometry must complete the application (link is provided below) by Friday, May 30, 2025. Once the application is received and reviewed you will be notified of your acceptance to the program and receive information about your room assignment. Course Description Application for Summer Geometry (Scan QR Code to apply) FREE In-Person Geometry Class Location: Intermediate East Dates: July 7, 2025 - August 14, 2025, Monday-Thursday Time: 8:00 am - 11:00 am Parents/Guardians must provide transportation to and from Intermediate East each day. Students will receive intensive instruction in Geometry by a TRRS teacher, using the TRRS curriculum and assessments. Students can have no more than 2 absences from the program. All students must take and pass 4 unit assessments and end the course with an average of a C+ or higher in order to move on to Algebra II/Trig in high school.

    Interested in attending college or exploring different careers? Join us at the Spring College and Career Expo on April 10th at the RWJ Barnabas Health Arena at Toms River North! Please register with the QR code on the flyer or at www.StriveFair.com. During the fair, colleges will scan your barcode to send you more information about their schools. The day after the fair, you will receive a report with information on the colleges with whom you scanned.     Ocean County College Financial Aid Representatives will be at High School South on Wednesday, March 5th from 5 - 7pm. Students can attend no matter what University or College they plan to attend. This is an excellent opportunity to complete this newest state graduation requirement. Please scan the QR Code to sign up by February 5, 2025. This event if for students in the Class of 2025 and their parents only.

    Parents of the 2025/2026 Freshman Class at High School South are invited to attend the 8th Grade Parent Night being held in the Cafetorium at HS South on January 30th beginning at 6PM sharp! Topics of discussion will include the NJ Dept. of Education Graduation Requirements, the freshman course selection process, the transition from Intermediate to High School as well as athletics, club and activities. A question and answer session will take place at the end of the program. This evening is for parents only. Please park in the Hooper Ave parking lot and enter the doors next to the practice field which will lead directly in to our Cafetorium.

  • OCVTS Career Discovery Day

    On Saturday, January 11, 2025 from 9am - 1pm, at the Ocean County Vo-Tech School, 350 Chambers Bridge Road Brick, NJ. This is a FREE event for all ages. K-12 & Parents. Come discover your passion with a fun-filled day of hands-on activities and demonstrations. Participate in activities while learning about different careers.   • FAFSA Workshop with OCC at HS South

    The nighttime FAFSA workshop with Ocean County College will be held on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 5pm - 7pm. There will be two sessions available to families: 5-6pm and 6-7pm. Be on the lookout for the January 6th Principal Newsletter for the link to sign up for this workshop. What to bring: Students and parents (if student is unmarried and under 24 years of age) must bring completed copies of their prior-prior year Federal Tax Returns (including schedules) and W-2s (for instance, you will need your 2022 tax information to complete the 2024-2025 FAFSA etc.). This information is required in order to answer income questions on either the FAFSA or FAFSA4caster worksheets. Students (and parents’, if applicable) will need a FSA ID in order to complete the financial aid application. The FSA ID can take up to 3 business days to confirm and process from the date created. Please allow for enough time for the FSA ID to process prior to attending your selected workshop . The 2024-2025 FAFSA cannot be completed and submitted without a usable FSA ID.     OCEAN COUNTY COLLEGE DUAL ENROLLMENT INFORMATION IS NOW AVAILABLE!!                           Deadline to register - October 1, 2024 Ocean County College's Early College at the High School program offers high school students the opportunity to earn college credits during their regular school day (aka Dual Enrollment). Please view our course offerings on the attached document as well as registration and tuition information. If you have any questions, please see your teacher or counselor! 
  • The Princeton Review Digital SAT Practice Test - FREE

    The practice test mirrors the exact format and question types found on the official College Board’s Bluebook App. This is an opportunity to take a free, full-length practice Digital SAT. After the test, you will receive a score report detailing strengths and weaknesses which will help you prepare for the official exam. This can be taken any time that is convenient to you!   • Spring College Fair

    The Ocean County School Counselor Association (OCSCA) will host a College Fair at the RWJ Barnabas Health Arena on the campus of High School North on March 19, 2024 from 6pm - 8pm. This free expo is open to all students and their families. Over 100 colleges, universities, technical schools and the armed forces will be in attendance. A financial aid workshop will be presented by HESAA at 5:30PM in the HS North Auditorium. An NCAA workshop will be held in the HS North Auditorium at 7PM.
  • Reset & Review: A Parent's Guide to Emotional Regulation

    On Tuesday, March 12, 2024, 6 - 7pm at Silver Bay Elementary School This workshop will help parents and caregivers to develop stress responses and learn to "reset & renew". There will be discussions to embed more mindfulness and reset techniques into daily routines at home to create a more calm, regulated home environment.
