Silver Bay is excited to announce that we are the recipient of a grant that will infuse the arts into your child’s educational experience. This amazing opportunity is being funded by a grant from the Jay and Linda Grunin Foundation. Over the next 5 years we will be working with the Young Audiences Arts for Learning to have monthly performances and incorporate a YA Arts Lab Intervention Program. This program will help teachers incorporate art mediums into their curriculum.
The Young Audiences’ mission is to inspire young people and to expand their learning through the arts. Their goal is to foster the creativity of every child, and to encourage productive and caring human beings. Their music, dance, theatre, literary, media, and visual arts programs are culturally diverse, curriculum-based, and measurably effective.
Our first monthly venue will be on Tuesday, December 18th. It is The Principals of Hip Hop: Peace, Love, Unity and Having Fun. The performance focuses on youth empowerment, diversity, creativity and working together which is embodied in hip hop’s four principles. We are looking forward to this venture because we recognize the importance and impact the arts have on young lives.
