Sept. 17, 2025- High School North has had its fare share of star athletes in recent years, and for anyone who might be wondering how some of them are handling the challenges and increased level of competition at the post-secondary level, we have some answers.
We can start with the Ford brothers, two of the most prolific student athletes in HSN history. Older brother Micah, who quarterbacked the Mariners to consecutive state titles, was named ACC Running Back of the Week after rushing for 157 yards and a touchdown in Stanford's win over Boston College Sept. 13.
Not to be outdone, younger brother Mordecai— fresh off an illustrious track and field and football career as a Mariner— was named NJAC Offensive Rookie of the Week after hitting the century mark in rushing yards and securing a touchdown for Rowan over the weekend.
And if it's good to be a Ford brother, then it's not too bad to be a Tetzlaff sister, either. In the same week Jill was named Jersey Mike's Player of the Week, older sister Rachael earned Defensive Player of the Week honors by the NJAC. The field hockey star notched two defensive saves during TCNJ's close matchup with Johns Hopkins over the weekend.
Congratulations to these former Mariners who continue to make Toms River proud.
