Sept. 21, 2026- High School South defeated High School East on Friday night in an exhilarating, hard-fought game that went into double overtime. On its home field and on its Senior Night, the Indians pulled out the win, 19-13, with an Xavier Santago five-yard TD run.
All the regulation-time scoring happened in the second quarter, when a South touchdown pass from Santago to George Campbell was answered by the Raiders with a Logan Harrison run from 29 yards out.
It was Santago and Harrison again in the first overtime on a pass and run, respectively. The Indians' attempted two-point conversion and East's extra point were both unsuccessful, keeping the score tied at 13 going into double OT.
"This was one of the most hard fought football games I have ever seen," said HSE teacher and photographer Allison Goodwin, whose photos are featured here. South improved to 3-1 while the Raiders fall to 1-3. Additional photos below.
