East football wins division photo 1

Oct. 27, 2025- A goal-line stand late in the game capped a tremendous overall defensive effort, and High School East defeated Pinelands, 6-0, Friday night at the home of the Raiders.

The win clinched the Shore C South division title for the team.

The game's only score— a Brayden Flanagan three-yard TD run— also happened late, in the fourth quarter. When Pinelands threatened to tie or take the lead, a sack by senior linebacker Luke Brush helped secure the win for East.

For that key play and his five total tackles, Brush earned accolades from the Asbury Park Press.

The victory and division title- the program's first since 2019- earned coach Kyle Sandberg a Gatorade bucket water bath (right), the second such refresher for an East coach in two days.

Congratulations to the Raiders, and good luck in the state tournament!
