A family affair

April 16, 2026- University of Connecticut center Tarris Reed, Jr. worked out at RWJBarnabas Health Arena this morning under the watchful eyes of several folks, including his agent Aaron Reilly, a Toms River Regional Schools and High School North alum.

Reilly is the CEO of AMR Agency, based in Bayville, which he's helmed for more than a decade. AMR represents a number of prominent international and NBA players including the L.A. Lakers' Austin Reaves and Jake LaRavia, and the 6' 11" UConn star is one of the agency's most recent signees.

Reed averaged nearly 15 points a game along with nine rebounds for a Huskies team that appeared in the NCAA title game earlier this month. He is projected to be a late first-round or early second-round selection in the upcoming NBA Draft, and this morning's workout was one in a series that Reilly has planned to prepare his client for an upcoming, promising NBA future.

An alumni returning to his former high school was unsurprisingly a family affair. Reilly brought along his (adorable) daughter, and his parents, Jim and Ann, dropped by (along with their pup). Superintendent Michael Citta was there to greet Reilly and welcome Reed, as was arena manager Joe Arminio and Athletic Director Ted Gillen, whose son Brady helped serve as an extra rebounder for the workout.

It's always special to witness a district alumni making waves, and we wish Aaron Reilly, and of course Tarris Reed, the best of luck moving forward. The NBA Draft is June 23-24; we'll be watching!
