Oct. 20, 2025- High School South cross country runner Jack O'Leary (above) followed up his Class A South gold with a personal-best showing of 15:34 to win first place at the Ocean County Championships Oct. 16. That performance and a strong fourth-place showing overall helped the Indians qualify for the Shore Conference Championships this week.
Speaking of weeks, it was a good one to be an O'Leary. Jack's running exploits earned him Jersey Mike's Player of the Week honors, a distinction he shared with twin sister Ellie (left, far right)— who scored a game-winning goal against East and notched an assist in a big win over Colts Neck the following day (Ellie also followed up those honors with another goal to help South defeat East in the SCT this past Friday)— and volleyball star Giana Denino, whose 16 digs and four kills helped her now 12-5 girls volleyball team beat Brick Oct. 16.
