Oct. 24, 2025- Since the advent of the district's Unified Sports program sponsored by the Special Olympics, games— flag football or kickball— have typically been held at the RWJBarnabas Health Field of Dreams. Yesterday's matchup, however, between High School East and High School North was held at the home of the Mariners.

This was big time, as players had more room to show off their athletic skills, and at the home of the three-time defending Group 5 football champs, no less. The site of the game also brought out big crowds, and warranted game coverage by TRSTV.

Students from both schools filled the stands and sidelines, as did their bands and cheerleaders. The vibe of the game was Friday night lights, except during the day, and a beautiful day at that. Such a unified level of support helped the game and the program live up to its name, and as usual the results on the field and off of it were joy and inspiration.
