March 3, 2026- The sixth-seeded High School East girls basketball team was down by four at halftime to third-seeded Mainland yesterday, playing on the Mustangs' home court in Linwood during the quarterfinals of the NJSIAA Group 3 state tournament. But the Raiders came out firing in the second half, outscoring Mainland 36-24, including a 24-point fourth quarter to complete the upset and advance to the state semifinal round.
Libby Dickman, Kacey Briles, and Brooke Gathman led the way, and did a lot of their damage from the behind the arc, combining on nine three-pointers in the victory.
Matt Cosentino at NJ.com/Star Ledger published a game recap, and his colleague Scott Faytok has the photos. For more personal coverage — including a postgame locker room celebration prominently featuring coach Kevin Cohen — check out the team's Instagram (right).
The Raiders will face second-seeded Moorestown on the road tomorrow. Good luck, girls!
