Measure of revenge for Lady Indians

April 17, 2026- During the finals of the 2025 Shore Conference Coaches Cup, High School South's girls lacrosse team lost an instant classic, 16-15, to Freehold Township. South had entered halftime of the game up five goals, but Freehold stormed back to outscore the Indians 7-1 in the second half to take the title.

If the Lady Indians were out for revenge, mission accomplished. This time, South came out on top of another one-goal thriller, beating the Patriots 8-7 during an evening game that ended under the lights at the Home of the Indians.

It was a back-and-forth game between two uniquely evenly-matched teams, with numerous ties and lead changes. Kylee Ford scored three goals for South, and Kelsey Weatherstone added two goals and an assist. Junior goalie Caroline Keenan made some huge saves down the stretch, thwarting Freehold's attempts to tie the game.

The big win moves the Lady Indians to a .500 record at 3-3, but the team is an impressive 3-1 in division play. Up next: Lacey at home on Monday, April 20.
