special senior night for south field hockey 1

Golden hour was the perfect time to snap photos of the members of the Class of '26 on High School South girls field hockey team during their Senior Night yesterday.

Oct. 16, 2025- Parents and program supporters had prepared food, flowers, a photo session, and pre- and post-game festivities for High School South's girls field hockey team as they prepared for a Senior Night game against Pinelands yesterday at the home of the Indians.

It was an appropriate and emotional send-off for the graduating student-athletes, but nothing helped honor the upperclassmen more than the game itself.

To say that seniors led the way during the team's 8-0 triumph over Pinelands would be true, but underselling it a bit. ONLY seniors scored, led by three goals from forward Brooke Weyandt— which moved her to 66 points for her impressive HSS field hockey career— and Bella Migliori's first goal of the season. But the final box score also featured Caprese Madigan, Miranda Dye, Addison Gioia, and Gabriella Gallucci, all of whom notched their first career goals on Senior Night.

Oh, and senior goalie Grace Brubaker posted a shutout with six saves.

Senior Night success? You bet.

Head coach Katie Ryan— who, in addition to being an English teacher at the school, also served as Senior Night photographer— expressed her gratitude to the parents and families who helped make the evening special in a message following the game.

"Thank you all again for going above and beyond for the girls," Ryan said. "You made tonight extra special for them."
