Jan. 9, 2025- Jake Greenberg's season-high 29 points powered High School North to a hard-fought 54-51 home win over district rival High School East yesterday.

It was a showcase of sophomores, highlighted by Greenberg's six three-pointers. Raiders' second-year players Brady Gillen (22 points) and Tommy Intintola (17) did most of the offensive damage for East.

But the true story of the game came after the final buzzer, when the teams' respective stars met at half-court and, as a show of goodwill and sportsmanship, exchanged jerseys. Gillen (left) handed his no. 12 to Greenberg (right), who parted with his no. 5.

Many in attendance who witnessed the gesture expressed great pride in both players, who were the unwitting subjects of rivalry talk and posts heading into the game. Way to go, boys!
