Marching Mariners Named Tops in Region

It's been a season of success for district bands, but High School North just upped the ante. The Marching Mariners were named Tournament of Bands Region 7 Group 3A champs over the weekend.

Following both bands' wins in Manchester Sept. 23, High School North (right) and High School East's (left) drumlines won "Best Percussion" for Group 3A and 2A, respectively, at the Sept. 30 Tournament of Bands competition at Brick Memorial.

Feb. 7, 2023-- During Sunday night’s Grammy Awards, the winner of Best Orchestral Performance went to the New York Youth Symphony for their debut album, “Works by Florence Price, Jessie Montgomery, Valerie Coleman.” Among the performers on that album is Julian Dippolito (left), High School South Class of 2018.

The band was asked to lend its voices to the first ever Walk for the Homeless in support of creating full-year shelters in the county. HSS student musicians led a large group of activists down Hooper Avenue and to the county offices April 2.

East Dover Elementary's fourth- and fifth-grade winter concert, 2022

The Intermediate North orchestra and band began their Music in Our Schools Month performance tour March 15. They performed for the fourth- and fifth-grade students of West Dover and Walnut Street elementary schools, and will be visiting Citta and North Dover elementary schools at the end of the month.
